Rescued swan’s heartwarming reunion with life long mate

Swans are among the few wild creatures that usually live with their partners for life. These majestic birds seem to show their feelings each other just as human beings do. So, naturally when they got separated, regardless the reason, it’s always heartbreaking. This time, two lovely swans have a heartwarming reunion after a short separation.

For several years now, Bonnie and Clyde nearby a lake not far from the city of Crewe in England. The swan couple got known not just by wildlife enthusiasts , but even by locals and everyone see them as some local superstars. Recently, the crowd got worried when realized Bonnie was injured. People immediately called the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) and they sent a rescue team straight away. However, rescuing Bonnie proved tougher than anyone would expected.

“This was a tricky rescue as the female swan was quite feisty so it took four of our water rescue team to bring her to safety using two rescue rafts,” Steve Wickham with the RSPCA, said in a press release.

The rescue team eventually managed to grab Bonnie and she was quickly taken to the RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife Center for investigation. While his partner was on his way to the clinic, Clyde was left heartbroken as he had no idea what happened. Once Bonnie arrived at the RSPCA facility, the vets discovered she had a leg injury, but they said she will be fine very soon. So it was, as in less than a month, the injured swan fully recovered and the volunteers were about to bring her back to her soulmate, Clyde.

The moment the two swan reunited each other in a month, left everyone open mouthed. A heart melting scene, meant to remember everyone just how delicate and compassionate these creatures are. “When she was released, she bounded towards her mate and almost immediately the pair made the shape of a love heart with their long necks,” Lee Stewart, center manager at RSPCA Stapeley Grange said. “It was a lovely moment!”
